FLASH: Huge earthquake just hit southern Mexico

CNN just reported this Breaking News... A magnitude 8 earthquake has just struck southern coast of Mexico near its border with Guatemala.

This giant earthquake happened off the Pacific coast of Chiapas, Mexico around 11:49pm CT / 9:49pm PT.

People in Mexico City ran out into the streets after the quake struck, a Reuters witness said.

James R.D. Scott‏ @jamesrds_to tweets: "Felt it all the way here in Playa Del Carmen. Tsunami warning for southern Pacific coasts."

Its epicentre was 123 km (76 miles) southwest of the town of Pijijiapan, at a depth of 33 km (21 miles).
